Top 10 Myths About Kiteboarding

# 1 You must be strong

First, let me say that I "M" 5'4, women, weight 100 pounds, and I have been in a gym once in my life. Even though my arm muscle is virtually nonexistent, I can still order the time kite flies because the harness to use with the kite.

# 2 I'm too fat or too big or too small or too old or too young

Many stores require kite weighing at least 80 pounds to take a lesson. I've seen almost every size and shape as the same species kitesurf range £ 300.

Height does not matter, but if you are a small corridor, consider buying a harness rather than a belt harness. This will move the bar close to your body and put the power / depower strap in a better coverage.

I saw a lot of guys between 60 and 70 kite. If you have back problems, you can buy a harness instead of a harness and buy a kite that has a lot of power (Bow, SLE, or hybrid kite.)

# 3 The kite is extremely dangerous

As the measures taken pre-cautions, kite surfing is relatively safe. I say relatively, because everything in life has a risk, even driving your car to the grocery store. However, if you do not know what you do, things can go terribly wrong. Take a lesson! If in doubt, make out. Never travel alone. Do not make in a storm or other times when the wind is not stable and reliable. And yet, take a lesson (the best)!

# 4 I do not need a lesson

Just because you're a pro skater / snowboarding etc, do not say you are a good kiter. You must learn to fly the kite and learn how to set the kite relaunch appropriate self-rescue, etc.

This is not wakeboarding, skiing and surfing. It is more comparable to dive, unless the leg not only put yourself in danger, but all world on this beach. It is absolutely essential that you know what to do. A minimum of at least one lesson is required. No exceptions.

# 5, I will take a lesson and running by the end of the day

Each year, the speed is better. Three years ago, it would take weeks to learn what people and learn in a few days. Although, do not expect not to be in place and the first time to ride (or second time by the way). It happens from time to time to improve their chances to spend the time you can with a trainer kite and work on your board skills.

# 6 trainer kite? I do not need a trainer kite!

Buying a trainer kite is one of the best moves you can do (while take lessons and buy the right equipment). You can learn a lot of training kite when taking a lesson, you will feel much more comfortable handling the real thing and the lesson will be much smoother. You can learn kite flying skills required to hard (with a powerful kite), or you can learn how easy (with a trainer kite) is your choice.

# 7 Kitesurfing is expensive

If you are purchasing a complete installation kitesurf (Kite, bar and lines, harnesses, board) you are looking at around $ 1500 – $ 2000. Ok, this number may seem high, but we have to think about it. If you want to wakeboard boat that needs a longer intends to spend much money on gas every time you go. In winter, spending money on tickets to lift dust from all good morning. Why not connect the snowboard or ski on your feet and go snowkiting (Use the same comet and harness, simply add your skis and board). When you feel that way, the $ 1.500 for pleasure throughout the year does not seem so bad.

# 8 kiteboarding can be done in the ocean

Evil Kite surfing can be done in any large body of water. Heck, I kiteboarder in a large pond mud was only a foot deep (not recommended). A sandy coast along clean, constant wind is ideal. Open areas like the Great Lakes or the oceans generally get softer than the wind Home places such as lakes and reservoirs. Kiteboarding can also be done in winter (snowkiting) lakes or frozen field a snowboard or skis. And then there's the Kite Land boarding (KGB) when using a landboard with a kite, the possibilities go on and on …

# 9 I have a wakeboard all you need is a kite

They are in the beginning as a wakeboard and are difficult to obtain, the relative ease of entry, Sandalwood, as the union of a kiteboard. Basically, when you're in the water with the kite, you will want as easy as possible to put this committee on your feet while you kite.

Try to imagine a restless ocean wakeboarding, does not sound too good to be done? The kite, however, can cut through chop and gives you a nice walk, open the possibility of mounting anything.

# 10, I met a lot of kite off ebay!

Have you ever noticed how each comet in the list is "Ideal for beginners." Do not believe everything you're told. Nearly all comets people saw eBay take to the beach makes me cringe. Many times, the kite is old (old kite can say no more than 2-3 years) and dangerous. Remember, kitesurfing is a sport again, and Today's team is three hundred times better than it was 4 years ago.

In general, you get what you pay for! Talk to someone in a shop setting for this kiteboarding kite is best for you and to buy through them. The train all the difference!
